Soar like Ravens
By Chloe Thrasher
Last week, our varsity football players played against Leto, and they won! This season, the varsity team has been working very hard for that win and hopefully many more to come. The team wants to do better this year and be able to win more games for a chance at the championship.
Junior Dylan Schneider says that the win wasn’t a surprise, but a definite confidence boost. “We practice hard every week, but for this game, we were kind of expecting a win, but being able to score all those touchdowns helped make our team better. We are definitely going to work hard this week to prepare us for Sarasota Riverview.” The end score of the game was 36-6 and was no doubt a very exciting win.
Senior Jonathan Negron says “We expected to win due to our mindset we have our selves set on. The team got better by repetition at practice and giving a 100 percent at practice. What you give in is what you get out. And we got paid with a win.” When you work very hard for something, just like our football Ravens have been doing since the start of the season, it’s possible to make it happen.
Senior Ashton Diggs agrees that the win helped, but they’re hungry for more. “The win was satisfying, but not enough. We expected to win, but we didn’t want that to cloud our minds. The team is getting better every day, either in the books or on the field; it doesn’t matter which. We do expect to keep winning, because we aren’t planning on getting worse, and we practice hard for every team we are up against.”
The team is determined to earn more wins this season. They hope to make it to the championship this year. So far, our record this season is 2-1, meaning two wins and one loss. We can see that the team has improved greatly from our previous season.
