Alonso Student News
Senior year is a huge milestone for many people; the idea of graduating gives a fulfilling sense of accomplishment. For some students, high school is this great experience in which they gain lifelong friends, aside from the academic knowledge. For others, however, those four years are far less exciting.
High school is a rollercoaster, and current seniors at Alonso High had a lot of mixed opinions on their “last first day”; some positive and some neutral. Answers ranged from “finally” to “it feels like a regular old day”. Senior Glenda Anton was very excited when she was asked how she felt about her last first day. Answering with a smile, she talked about how “it felt surreal, that high school was coming to an end”. Another response that went hand in hand with Ms. Anton’s was the response of senior Shavelys Garcia. She demonstrated her feelings with the classic quote of “Time flies when you’re having fun”. Finishing this emotional review of senior year, senior class president Jessica Morales was more than happy to state that “senior year is going to be unforgettable”, and she followed it with the promise that she would do everything in her power to make sure of it.
The school spirit that Alonso portrays is riveting, especially to the graduating class of 2019. Through general observation, it is evident that seniors at Alonso high school are happy with their high school experience so far and will continue to enjoy the journey until they have walked across that stage with their diplomas in hand.
